PHILADELPHIA – Tyler & Company is pleased to announce Jennie Gliha as the new vice president of human resources of Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, New York.
Gliha will report to the president & CEO of Ellis Medicine and oversee the operation of the human resources department, as well as various other hospital functions and departments. This is a highly visible position that works closely with the executive team, board and human resources staff. Gliha will be charged with continually seeking ways to improve human resources and help Ellis Medicine remain a successful, independent health system.
The search was led by Dennis Kain, senior vice president, alongside Hallie Banker, senior consultant. Tyler & Company provided Ellis with a robust slate of candidates. From the first-round interviews held, the senior team identified two finalists and Gliha was selected.
Gliha will succeed retiring Joe Giansante, who was also placed by Tyler & Company in 2007. Under Giansante’s leadership, Ellis Medicine developed a positive culture throughout the organization. He also helped launch a leadership succession planning program. Giansante served as a trusted advisor within the Ellis Medicine community.
Gliha began her position on April 8, 2019.
Before accepting the VPHR position, Gliha served as Vice President of Patient and Employee Experience at A.O. Fox Hospital, where she was responsible for Human Resources, Patient Experience, Quality and Safety, Risk Management, Case Management, Corporate Compliance, Volunteer Services, Community Education, Employee Education, Public Relations, Marketing and Community Engagement
“The process of selecting Joe’s successor was very inclusive as a variety of folks participated. This included representation by staff, clinicians, board and management. Jennie’s energy and innovative approach combined with her broad understanding of hospital operations were highlighted by those who met with her,” said Kain.
Gliha received a bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Human Resources from Binghamton University and a master’s in Human Resources from Stony Brook University.
Paul Milton, CEO, commented, “We were provided with a slate of qualified candidates which represented a wide variety of experience. Tyler & Company maintained an ongoing communication with us throughout the engagement.”
