The Organization:

The American Hip Institute (AHI) is the first clinic of its kind, dedicated exclusively to providing cutting edge minimally invasive treatment for patients with hip pain. AHI’s surgeons have developed unique techniques in hip arthroscopy, robotic hip replacement, and state of the art regenerative medicine and stem cell therapies. AHI’s doctors have performed over 10,000 hip surgeries, including the largest series of successful hip arthroscopy procedures to be published in medical literature. Unique to the practice is the ability to provide a diagnosis in one day and to provide a one-stop resource for hip preservation, total joint replacement, resurfacing, reconstruction, stem cell services and sports medicine in a concierge environment.  The practice has the largest number of successful hip preservation outcomes in the world and is led by one of the top 3 surgeons in the nation in this area of specialty.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the business aspects of a premier, destination specialty surgery practice while driving new models of care, continuously improving processes and fueling an extensive expansion initiative.  Under the forward-thinking leadership of Dr. Benjamin Domb, this unique combination of surgical practice and academics has enjoyed a 12-year history of expansion supported by a customer-focused and impressive group of team members.  Since February 2019, with the new branding as American Hip Institute, the organization is experiencing exponential growth – and this trend is expected to continue.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate must have 5+ years of experience as an administrative health care leader within an innovative and dynamic environment. Experience leading the business and growth aspects of a major orthopedic, surgical subspecialty or similar clinic, is ideal. Knowledge is needed in the following disciplines in order to facilitate a quick and decisive workflow:  Financial aspects including proformas and analytics, Legal, Human Resources, Vendor management, Contract negotiations, Payor and other Contract management, Revenue Cycle, Front office operations, Marketing, Physician Recruitment, practice flow/optimization, ambulatory surgery center access/scheduling, bundled payments and Compliance.  Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.

Ideally located just 17 miles northwest of the Chicago Loop, Des Plaines is a diversified, vibrant and growing business community.  The town is situated on the Des Plaines River, which runs through the city near the downtown area.  Home to several Fortune 500 companies and international businesses, there is a comfortable blend of commercial, financial, industrial, professional, service-oriented and retail sectors.  The city is serviced by state and interstate highways, Metra rail line, PACE bus, and all forms of business, freight and passenger flights at nearby O’Hare International Airport.
