Reporting to the Chair, Department of Neurology, the Pediatric Neurologist will join an active neurology department and be responsible for advancing pediatric services. The department currently holds a pediatric neurology clinic and participates in the neurology residency program, which has rotations at Children’s National Medical Center. He/she will be responsible for providing excellent clinical care, as well as educate medical students. (This physician could also conduct research if he/she desires).

Howard has a large pediatric neurology outpatient population to be seen. This position is largely focused on the outpatient side, although Howard has a relationship with Children’s National Medical Center for fetal diagnostics, pediatric cardiology, etc.

The Ideal Candidate

The incoming Pediatric Neurologist will possess the ability to build outpatient clinical services. The selected candidate will have a strong commitment to the education and mentorship of students, residents and faculty.

The selected candidate will:

  • Have an MD from an accredited institution;
  • Be able to obtain an unrestricted District of Columbia (D.C.) medical license;
  • Have a certification in neurology; and
  • Three or more years of experience.
