The Organization:  Based in Allentown, Pennsylvania the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is an eight-hospital, nonprofit health system that serves Northeastern Pennsylvania.  In addition to their hospitals they have one of the largest physician group practices in the country, with over 750 employed physicians and more than 400 advanced practice clinicians in 59 specialties.  The system also contains four ambulatory surgical sites and 17 clinics, as well as the region’s only Children’s ER, PICU and Level IV NICU.  Lehigh Valley Health is a Magnet organization with the only accredited nurse residency program in Pennsylvania.

The Opportunity: This is an outstanding opportunity to work with an executive leadership team devoted to the healthcare needs of the community and enhance and grow the Children’s Hospital services within the LVHN network. The Clinical Director for Pediatrics and PICU will report to the Vice President, Patient Care Services.  This role is responsible and accountable for safe and effective care delivery within the Children’s Hospital.  Responsibility includes managing all material, financial and human resources within the Children’s Hospital.  Additionally, the Director of Clinical Services assures competent staff performance and promotes staff development.  This role is the primary retention and recruitment officer for the Pediatric and PICU units.

The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a strong nursing leadership background with experience in hospital based pediatric and PICU services.  An RN is required, and an MSN is preferred.  Three to five years of nursing leadership experience is also required.
