King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) is a progressive, locally controlled, not-for-profit, 465-bed regional medical center. KDMC is located in Ashland, Kentucky, in the heart of the tri-state region spanning Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. Established in 1899, King’s Daughters employs approximately 4,100 team members, over 300 volunteers and a medical staff of more than 300 physicians representing 38 specialties, making it the largest single employer west of Charleston, West Virginia, and east of Lexington, Kentucky. KDMC has been recognized and ranked my multiple sources for clinical quality and has been selected as one of the nation’s “100 Top Hospitals” by Thomson Reuters for five consecutive years.
The Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will serve as the key financial advisor to the CEO, executive team and the Board and will be accountable for the financial performance at King’s Daughters Health System and related business through leadership of assigned departments and the administration of policies and procedures related to contemporary healthcare financial operations and accounting practices. The Chief Financial Officer’s direct reports include the Controller and Directors of Business Intelligence, Development, Documentation Integrity, Revenue Cycle and Strategic Planning.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a strong, seasoned leader with at least five years of demonstrated healthcare experience as a CFO, guiding the financial operations within a 300-bed or larger hospital. In-depth knowledge of managed care contracts, budgets, short/long-range financial planning, treasury, reimbursements and bank/bond financing is required. The chosen candidate will also have experience working with a board of directors and owned physician groups. A master’s degree is required, CPA is preferred. For-profit experience would be positive. Military background would be respected.
