Q: How did your career at Tyler & company start? And how has it evolved?

Hallie joined the Tyler & Company team 25 years ago. She was hired as an intern while attending Georgia State University as a full-time student, where she was enrolled in the MHA/MBA program. Hallie proceeded to finish her residency under Larry Tyler and worked her way up to full-time research associate. She is now a senior consultant and plays a major role in the success of Tyler & Company.

Q: Throughout your career, how have you seen the healthcare search industry change?

“LinkedIn has been a wonderful networking tool for us and for candidates,” says Hallie.

She explains that digital recruiting and marketing through LinkedIn and online job boards have helped achieve faster results for both clients and candidates.

Q: What can clients do to attract candidates?

Hallie loves when a client “rolls out the red carpet” to make a candidate feel special. Clients who create a detailed interview schedule for candidates, leave gift baskets at the hotel and have an assigned contact to meet the candidate and show them to their first interview typically end up with very enthusiastic candidates who want to join the organization.  These things help the candidates feel welcome and provide a convenient and enjoyable visit.

Hallie notes how important it is for the client to provide the candidate closure at the end of the interviews, ensure they have transportation and let them know what to expect in the next steps of the process.

“Clients aren’t just interviewing the candidates; the candidates are interviewing the client as well,” says Hallie.

Q: What makes Tyler and Company different than other executive search firms?

“Tyler & Company has always been very timely in responding to clients and candidates. We always return calls promptly and are always available to answer questions,” says Hallie.
