The Opportunity

Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean for Research Innovation will be responsible for promoting and facilitating the School’s research program, including providing the research infrastructure necessary for faculty investigators to be successful, operationalizing the School’s strategic research objectives, identifying and pursuing extramural research grants and projects, and promoting scholarly work for tenure and non-tenure track faculty. The Associate Dean for Research Innovation will be supported in these efforts by a part-time statistician, research coordinator and graduate research assistant program.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications include an earned PhD degree in nursing, public health, health administration or a related field from an accredited institution; meets the qualifications for tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor; maintains a program of scholarly research and serves as a role model related to successful scholarship-reviewed journals, has demonstrated experience facilitating IRB issues; and holds a deep appreciation of Georgetown’s values-based approach to nursing education.

The Organization

The Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies (NHS) is known for its innovative, values-based approach to education. The School’s academic departments include Advanced Nursing Practice, Health Systems Administration, Human Science, International Health and Professional Nursing Practice. It houses leading experiential learning technology in the 4,800-square-foot O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center. The School launched Georgetown University’s first-ever online degree-granting program in 2011 – a Master of Science degree in Nursing with several specialty options.
